Use the resources below to complete your testing and licensing process.
Your next step is to schedule the required Nail Technician examinations through PSI.
GO TO PSI TESTING PORTALSign in to your PSI account or create a new account.
Select MN NAIL TECHNICIAN Examination. Test information will appear for all three exams.
Carefully select the correct examination you are ready to schedule.
Select your testing date and location, complete payment, and watch for your confirmation email from PSI.
IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE PAYING
Please read each test selection carefully before submitting payment. PSI will not refund you if you select the wrong test.

Once you have passed your required exams, you’re ready to apply for your first Minnesota license through the Minnesota Board of Cosmetology.
Complete Your Application
Complete the Initial Operator License Application.
Include Payment
Include the required application payment.
Course Completion Certificate
Submit your original Course Completion Certificate.
Passing Exam Results
Provide your original passing results from the required exams.
Exam results are valid for one year.
